What can I store?
Just about anything you can imagine can be stored in our mini storage! Home furnishings, extra boxes, seasonal items, sporting goods, old files, you name it. Government law dictates what may not be stored in our storage facility. The following is an outline of items that may not be placed into storage containers:
- Explosives
- Toxic, radioactive, or hazardous goods
- Illegally obtained items
- Illegal substances
- Food items

Do you require a security deposit or administration fees to rent a storage container?
No, there are no administration fee or security deposit.
How is billing structured for your storage containers?
Our billing is structured in order to provide you with the most value for your money. At our storage facility our rates are for the full calendar month, from the first day of the month to the last. If you move into one of our storage containers part way through the month, then you only pay a prorated amount for the rest of the month.
What happens if I don't pay the rent on my storage container?
Rent is due on the fist of the month, and if later than the seventh late charges are applicable. After 30 days the Storeroom has the right to foreclose upon your possessions in order to recoup our loses. That said, we try to work with our clients in case of unforeseen circumstances.
Is there a fee for accessing my storage containers?
No, there is no charge to access our storage facility as long as it is during our regular hours.
Can I look at the different storage containers before moving in?
Of course. We encourage you to visit our downtown Vancouver mini storage warehouse and have a tour of our storage facilities before moving in. Our friendly staff will happily show you a wide variety of storage container options.
What do I do if I rent the wrong size storage container?
We have experienced staff on hand to help make sure that you choose the best storage container to meet your needs. That said, if you realize you want more or less space during your move, we will happily assist you in choosing a different storage space.
Is notice required to move-in to your storage facility?
Our mini warehouse does not require notice to move-in; however, we do advise that you make a reservation in order to ensure that we have the specific size storage container size you require. Reservations require no payment or deposit and can be modified or cancelled if plans change.
Can I reserve a storage container in advance?
Absolutely. We can hold a storage container for you for two weeks, free of charge (subject to availability). Please call (604-685-5305) or email (info@thestoreroom.com ) for more information.
Do I need to bring my own lock, or do you provide one?
You may purchase a high quality Abus lock from us for your storage unit, or you may bring your own.
Who has a key to my storage container?
The choice is yours. You can leave the keys with us or take them with you. Whatever works best for you.
Can you help me move into your storage facility?
Unfortunately our employees are not available to help move. That said, we provide dollies, hand trucks, and pallet jacks free of charge for moving your goods within our mini warehouse, and our knowledgeable staff can show you how to best organize your storage container. Additionally, we can provide labour in our mini warehouse for a minimal fee.
How do you protect my possessions in your storage facility?
At the Storeroom we do everything in our power to keep your goods safe. We have state-of-the-art digital video security, concrete floors and walls, individually alarmed floors, and live-in staff who are on-hand 24 hours a day to ensure that your storage container is safe.
Can I have power in my storage container?
Power is available in storage units. Please call 604-685-5304 and speak to our manager in order to help us meet your mini storage needs.
Can I receive monthly invoices for my mini storage rental?
The Storeroom does not invoice customers on a monthly basis; however, we do offer quarterly invoicing for our commercial clients.
Can I have packages shipped to my storage unit if I am not there?
Of course! We accept packages free of charge. If you leave a key with us, we will hand deliver it directly to your storage container.
